I'm in Belorado today and it's COLD. We had drizzle, rain, sleet and sun all before noon! Kinda like back home:-) Was + 20 for several days now it's like 5.
All still well, have gotten a couple of blisters on my toes but they have been taken care of.
The countryside has changed from the vineyards to rolling green h...ills like Ireland. The Koreans have settled in somewhere else. Actually got a young Japanese fellow here now.
We met a young girl, probably around 5_
to 6 years old, in a small village this morning. She had two dogs with her, so of course I had a chat with her . Gave her a Weathers candy she was very happy...so was I. The bread delivery lady drove thru the village making deliveries.
Hope all is well at home. Was able to recharge my camera, tablet and will soon recharge my soul with a couple of Tapas and Vinos

Found the WiFI bar next to the Albergue were we are staying. Beautiful
cool day today, lite drizzle great for walking.  My backpack has become
the monkey on my back. Always a little pain here and there. It usually
only takes a minor adjustment to feel. Better!  Its sort of like life it
only takes minor adjustments to get back on track!  I went into the church
courtyard too see the roosterrs...there is a story behind this,, Google
Santo Domingo de Calzada!  I was told they are not on the menus.
Great to hear from all, sort of like day 29 on SURVIVOR.

I'm still walking but having a hell of a time with WIFI. We are in Ventosa on the its a small village and I got on line!  Just left Longrono a large university city but no WiFi.  Hope all is well at home:-) :-)
Weather is pretty warm now plus 20.  Had a pizza with shrimp and lovely salad for me supper last night.  We ate in the town square. Were all the locals gather.
Its 11:40 now me and the auzzie are haven a cervaza and pastry for breakfast!

I'm lying in my bunk in Estella listening to all the rustling of pilgrims hustling about packing their gear to head out on the trail. Its still dark outside, some have left as early as 0500! Its much more relaxing lying here till 0630 when the crowds have departed. The Koreans are in group or 12. Did manage to talk to one yesterday:-) She was in the top bunk last night Snoring...I always use ear plugs.
I had a feed of Squid and roasted rabbit last night, just like home. Weather has been perfect mostly in the 50 to 60F range which makes for comfortable
Hiking. The old legs are getting strong each day. You can go on long but its nice knowing that there is time slow down and take in the sights and smells..even saw a small snake on the trail.

Having a great meeting people on the Camino. I,m going about 20km a day. Usually leave at 0715 and get to the next stop by noon. Do laundry and shower then explore the town. Most places in town are closed for siesta until after 1700 then get dinner around 1900 and back to the Albergue before 2130 as the lights go out by 2200, they even lock the door 2300hrs.  Been walking with a fellow from Australia.

Accommodation are really good especially for us see senior citizens...we usually get the lower bunks, but not tonight! I do my laundry in a sink get a shower relax go out and eat then back to the Albergue by 9 as the lights go out at 10! They lock you out after 10. Had a wonderful evening with a Australian fellow I met he has 2 grandchildren and 2 dogs.

I'm at the train station waiting for a train to Irun, my over nite stop. Was very anxious in Ottawa as the plane was 45 min late! Like I said the Camino provides...the flight out of Newark was late leaving. Its taken me almost 2 hours just to get on WiFi.
Took the subway from airport to here...even had to ask directions in Spanish. I gave my carry on bag to a elderly lady going to Irun' she was very happy to have a Americans Tourister bag. I didn't tell her I got it from Value Village.

Only 14 more days and I'm off on my Quest/Trek across Northern Spain on the Camino De Santiago.  I'll be trekking over 800 km in 30 days.  Meeting fellow travellers along the way  should be very interesting.  People have been walking this path since the 11th century so as you can imagine it is well marked, not like the streets around St. Johns!
I will land in Madrid on the 16 April 2013 and take a train to the border town of Irun in north Spain.  The next day I'll make it to St. Jean Port de Pied' France were I will start the Camino.
