FONCEBADON


> Pulling our ponchos over our heads we set off for Foncebadon at the foot of the hill leading to the Cruz Ferro, Iron Cross, this is an especially important site for all pilgrims.  It is here were one drops off a stone in remembrance of a loved one or special person.
> The village of Foncebadon is in really poor shape but one can see some efforts to rehabilitate it as a direct result of the increase of pilgrims passing through.
> We had the surprise of our lives by stubbling upon a Midevil Restaurant in the village. The place was decorated in authentic  period decor and the wait staff dressed in traditional costumn.  Enjoyed a fest of stewed Venison and fresh broiled potatoes.  Five star service and cuisine.
> Back at our Albergue we were surprised to find out that they had a communal dinner...something was lost in translation!  We did join them in celebrating the Hospitaleros birthday. We served Vino Tinto in
> Our sea shells, not only used for ashtrays as we learnt.
